EMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

For both Morgs and I, the best thing about ember is being able to connect with our community.

The lovely Bronwyn just recently joined us, after stumbling across our profile ahead of the BODY RESET challenge. A new mum looking to begin her fitness journey again, Bronwyn proved that it's not about how many classes you do, but how hard you try and show up for yourself.

We sat down with Bronwyn, our challenge winner and ember Member of the Month, to hear about her fitness journey and experience with ember so far.

Why did you join ember?

I was looking for a fresh start to get back into fitness after having my baby. I came across Ember just on the eve of your 21 day challenge, and so I thought I would go for it!

Was it what you expected?

It was better than I expected. Ember feels more personal than other online platforms I've tried, because new classes are released each week and scheduled for each day. The more personal approach made me feel more accountable than to a big anonymous platform and I stuck with the workouts. I also loved the mixture of classes and how it was really different every day, I wasn't expecting such a balance of strength, intervals and core pilates.

How do you feel after the challenge?

I managed 14 sessions which was more than my goal of 12. My goal was to turn up every second day at a minimum, and to keep smiling, accept my body for what it could do each day without thinking of what I might have used to been able to do or getting frustrated with my pace or limits.

I had my moments but overall I’d say I smashed it!

What did you enjoy most about the challenge?

I loved it. I’m easing back into exercise after baby and although my body has “recovered” enough to exercise, I think my mind was really dragging the chain with making time for exercise. So this challenge was great for me, because it got me moving regularly and it was HARD but an achievable duration. I love how it was different each day and how you both are so encouraging but also open about how it’s hard (Morgs I love how you say “ow ow ow!”, so refreshing).

Being a new mum how did you fit ember into your day?

On lucky days, I had time to do a whole class during her naps. Other times it just didn't happen so I would do it after she'd gone to bed for the night. I made a deal with my partner that we couldn’t watch Inventing Anna until I’d done my workout, so he was also on board with helping me to make time for it which was a massive help.

Thank you lovely Bronwyn, we are so PROUD of you!
